Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Honey I Shrunk the Audience is a 3D show
based on the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989) starring Rick
Moranis as Professor Wayne Szalinski, Matt Frewer as
Russell 'Russ' Thompson, Sr. (Big Russ Thompson) and Marcia
Strassman as Diane Szalinski.
The movie features Professor Wayne Szalinski
with his new inventions which, of course, went wrong and
he ended up shrinking the audience. The Honey I shrunk the
Audience show is short and enjoyable. The line for Honey I
Shrunk the Audience is usually shorter than most other
Disneyland rides.
Professor Wayne Szalinski is receiving the
Inventor of the Year Award for his invention. When attempting
to
demonstrate it, it goes haywire and ends up shrinking the
audience and his son, Nick Szalinski, instead. After some
adventures, Professor Szalinski managed to turn the audience
back to the normal size and continued to receive his award from
the institute. This attraction is at Disneyland California
and also at EPCOT in Disney World, Florida.
This is a 3-D Film with 3-D glasses (but
they refer to them as "Safety goggles"). There is a warning
towards the entrance of the ride warning people that have a
fear of mice, snakes, or "things that go bump in the night" not
to experience the attraction. You enter the building and stand
around in a large room for a while before you actually go into
the theater. There is a bit of Kodak advertising at first.
Honey I Shrunk the Audience is a 10 -
15 minutes show where you wear 3D glasses and watch a big
screen. Your seat does not really move but you will feel like
you are moving because of the 3D effects. But since you are not
really moving, you will not get nauseas like in Star Tours
(Star Wars).
